Group description and settings:
This group is open to anyone living or owning property within the Mordecai Citizens Advisory Council area. For a map please refer to our "maps" page.
The goal of this list is to bring people together within the Mordecai CAC community.
This is a "Non-Moderated" list meaning that no one polices what actually gets posted. We ask that topics stay focused on the community and the concerns of the community. Pertinent issues for the group include any item that would be discussed at a CAC meeting or fall under the auspices of a CAC committee - - for example discussions on zoning, traffic, safety, the picnic, neighborhood watch, parks, stream clean-up. Items of interest happening downtown are also welcome since we are a part of the downtown community.
Only members can view group content. Only members can view group members list. People can request an invitation to join. Members can upload files and create pages. Only members can post.
If a member is abusing the list by posting inappropriate e-mails, they will be contacted by the group administrators and can be removed from the list if necessary.
The group has four administrators: Philip Bernard, Shane Trahan, Chris Bradley, and Dana Deaton. The group has approximately 200 members as of May 2008.
Guidelines for posts to the Mordecai CAC Google Group:
Intent:
Ask yourself before posting - - Is this post 1) information of true community wide interest and 2) is there any aspect of this post that is a form of advertisement for commercial purpose or other special interest.
Guidelines:
1) No blatant advertising or spam
2) Please don't post anything that is completely off the wall or very controversial. Sending emails while very easy to do can also spiral out of control. One persons two cents worth can often lead to someone elses email box littered with many emails.
3) There are no hard and fast rules to what can and cannot be posted, it is expected that members are responsible enough to understand what is valid and what is not.
4) Advertising of homes for sale is not permitted on the list serve
5) Posts asking group members for references on house related services such as painting, landscaping, flooring, etc., are deemed appropriate.
